A Black-eyed Susan without the black eye. This particular variety is called "Prairie Sun."
This is the split second when this tiny orange bug stood on its back legs and unfurled its wings, which are just a blur. He looks as though he's conducting an orchestra or called a bug meeting to order.... Hear ye, hear ye....
Once it has bloomed, a clematis flower leaves behind this fuzz which makes the plant look like something out of a Dr. Suess book. This clematis is called "Liberation."
I like the painterly quality of this photo. The flowers were swaying a little in the breeze which gave the background a streaked look. I used a very light gaussian blur filter on the foreground to keep an overall impressionist style.
